AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM

 

Automotive repair is essential in today's society, ensuring that vehicles operate safely and efficiently, which is crucial for daily transportation and the economy. The Automotive Technology Program at IGNITE is perfect for high school students passionate about cars and interested in a hands-on, technical career. Students will learn from experienced instructors and use state-of-the-art equipment to diagnose, service, and repair various automotive systems. 

WHAT YOU
WILL LEARN

Students will interact with instructors who have extensive professional experience in the automotive industry.  Working hands-on in the IGNITE auto lab, students will use industry state of the art equipment to diagnose, service, and repair all types of automobiles.

From basic repair and maintenance, to advanced diagnosis of electrical systems, students will develop the skills needed to enter the workforce or enroll in post-secondary education and training.

  • Auto 1 General Maintenance & Engine Repair
  • Auto 2 Manual Drive Train, Axles, Suspension, and Steering
  • Auto 3 Automatic Transmission and Transaxle
  • Auto 4 Electrical/Electronic Systems and Brakes
  • Auto 5 Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Engine Performance
  • Heavy Equipment
  • Intro to Powersports

AVAILABLE CERTIFICATION & APPRENTICESHIPS

This program prepares students for entry level jobs in the residential automotive industry. 

Students in the Automotive Technology program can earn industry certification through IGNITE's affiliation with iCEV.

Work-Based-Learning and apprenticeships are available.
