The IP Land and Cattle animal operations at IGNITE Pathways give students valuable hands-on experience in farming by raising chickens and sheep. Students are responsible for daily chores, ensuring the animals are well cared for and learning about animal husbandry and farm management. In addition to caring for the animals, students raise sheep and chickens for sale, gaining insights into the business side of farming.
By raising farm animals, this real-world experience helps students develop a deeper understanding of agricultural practices, teaching them essential skills in managing livestock and running a successful farming operation.
By running the farm on their own, students gain real-world experience in agriculture, preparing them for future careers in the industry while contributing to the local community.
The crop operation at IP Land and Cattle gives students a comprehensive, hands-on farming experience by managing approximately 40 acres of farmland. Students are responsible for every step of the farming process, from planting and tending to the crops to monitoring growth and harvesting. This large-scale operation allows them to apply agricultural principles to learn and implement sustainable farming practices.
