Auto 5 at IGNITE Pathways is designed for students ready to master complex automotive systems with hands-on, manufacturer-specific maintenance and diagnostic procedures. In this advanced course, students will gain in-depth knowledge of engine operation and maintenance, including two- and four-stroke engines and their subsystems. They'll also develop a strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems in vehicles, applying industry standards to diagnose and maintain these crucial components.
In this course, students will have the opportunity to learn about theory and operation, diagnosis, service, and repair of automotive heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. They will also learn about electronic ignition systems, electronic fuel injection, and engine management.
Identify heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) components and configurations.
Identify and interpret heating and air conditioning problems.
Inspect engine cooling and heater systems hoses and pipes.
Demonstrate understanding of proper engine cooling system operation.
Identify fuel, air induction, and exhaust system components and configurations.
Identify computerized control system components and configurations.
Inspect, service, or replace air filters, filter housings, and intake duct work.
