The Social Media Marketing program introduces students to marketing, brand basics, content creation, analytics and ethics that relate to social media and the current trends inside the industry.
Students get real-world experiences by working with businesses and organizations on all aspects of social media marketing.
This course may be for you if you are interested in: Copy Writing, Digital Media, Reporting, Data Analysis, Planning, or Presentation.
Students explore major social media platforms as they establish an online presence, create posts, build a following and manage multiple social media accounts while managing advertising campaigns and evaluating the results of marketing efforts.

Students in Social Media Marketing may earn industry certifications issued by Facebook, Google, Instagram, Hootsuite, Blogspot, and others.
Paid, registered apprenticeships are available to marketing career-oriented students.
Students may choose to go into the workforce immediately following graduation. Their industry certifications and IGNITE experience will qualify them for entry level positions. With advance training at a community college or traditional 4-year college, social media marketing majors can anticipate higher career positions at $20-$50/hour.

Claire, Woodbine Junior, chose Social Media Marketing to gain valuable experience and training in her chosen career field of Marketing. After graduation, Claire plans to attend University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
Claire’s jumpstart in marketing has included opportunities to interview Senator Joni Ernst, meet and write social media posts about Governor Kim Reynolds, participate in a startup business social media audit, set media marketing goals, take/edit images and write post copy.
Claire has been accepted to the registered apprenticeship program, working for a local retail/wholesale business with state and national ties.
