Love working with kids? Turn your passion into purpose by gaining real experience in early childhood education! If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to guide, teach, and inspire young learners, this is your chance to find out. Discover what goes on behind the scenes in a preschool setting and see if a future in ECE is right for you!
The ECE Lab course at IGNITE Pathways gives students the opportunity to complete job shadow hours at either Building Blocks Academy or the Woodbine Preschool—both valued partners of our program. Students gain hands-on experience working directly with young children, helping them explore what it’s really like to be in an early childhood education setting. This immersive opportunity allows students to build foundational skills, develop professional relationships, and decide if a career in ECE is the right path for their future.
Students will participate in seven different lab experiences throughout the semester. During each session, students are expected to follow expectations in the ECE Professional Skills Rubric. The scores on the rubric will make up the grade for the course.
