This course is a foundational course that explores the essential principles of plant science, focusing on the basic structure and function of plants, their growth and development, and the factors influencing their responses to the environment. This course covers fundamental topics such as photosynthesis, plant nutrition, water use, and genetics, offering students a comprehensive understanding of plant biology from molecular to ecosystem levels. Students will learn about the history of agriculture, modern farming practices, and the science behind crop production.
Basic structure and function of plants, origin and classification, growth and development. Fundamentals of photosynthesis, plant water use, plant nutrition and genetics that regulate plant growth, development and responses to the environment. (AGA 182)
